We hope parents of children in Foundation Stage will take the opportunity to settle their children into class and spend five or ten minutes helping with reading or a task set by a member of staff. Pupils in Year 1 line up in the playground and are escorted into class by a member of staff. Gates open at 8:35 for a staggered morning entry straight into class. School starts promptly at 8:45 am and all exterior doors will close at 8:55am, children arriving after that time must report to the school office.
Visiting the School

As mentioned above, we welcome parents in to support their children at the start of the day but it is not an opportunity to chat with members of staff who will need to make a prompt start teaching your children.   Meetings for parents will be held throughout the school year and there are regular workshops to help parents support their children’s learning.

Besides the formal consultations, parents are also welcome at any other time but if you wish to discuss matters of importance or have a complaint, please make an appointment to see the class teacher.  If necessary, further appointments may be arranged to see the Assistant Head/Deputy Head/Head Teacher/Chair of Governors. DCSF procedures will be followed as recommended in A Guide to the Law for School Governors, 2008.  Please note that just as you would not expect a member of staff to be rude or aggressive, the same consideration must be extended to members of staff and pupils.  Appropriate action will be taken to ensure that all members of our school community enjoy a safe and non-aggressive or violent environment.
